After receiving her associate's degree, she worked at various medical practices in Norfolk and Virginia Beach. With active volunteer roles in the United Fund, her university and sorority alumni groups, the annual Winnetka rummage sale, the Winnetka Womens club, and with her work at Northwestern University, Ellen was proud of her family and community.
